I am a senior studying biology and business with hopes of attending OSU College of Dentistry. My header photo is a picture I took while I was studying abroad in Ireland. This past May I participated in an archaeological dig on a 14th century monastery in Trim, Ireland. The monastery, the Blackfriary, was completely underground and I aided in moving about tow tons of dirt from a cutting. In addition to digging on the monastery, I traveled around Ireland to Sligo which is along the Atlantic, Dublin, Cork, Loughcrew and a few other places. I took Ohio Plants because I thought the course sounded unique and like no other class I have taken at Ohio State. I would define Botany as the study of plants’ life cycle and plants’ interactions with the environment. Thus far I have enjoyed the course and I look forward to learning more about angiosperms!
